Farm Tactics - Best Backpack Ever!

I just spoke to Kyle at Farm Tactics. These incredible Field Backpacks are on the way, along with his equally impressive Scout Pack. This backpack encompasses everything I look for in a collectable. I've scoured antique shops for years looking for WWII bags and have never been as excited as I was to see this.

Bounce House

The weather in Northeast Georgia is cold, wet and miserable. This picture of Jack and his Aunt Lindsey seems to warm it up a bit.

Be A Better Man - Billykirk is Here

Just opened the boxes. That smell of leather... this stuff is incredible. I hate to take it out of the plastic to photograph it for the store. As great as the finishes (or lack of) are on these leathergoods, I can only imagine how good they will look after years of use. Cast away that horrible pleather tote they gave you with your laptop. Carry a card case in your front pocket. People will notice when you pull it out to pick up the tab. Stop toting your weekend in an eco-friendly grocery bag. Give me a call.

Thinning the Pines

The children loved watching these big machines at work. It is impressive the way these things take down the trees. This is was first thinning on the property. They took out every fifth row and then every other tree in the remaining rows. A controlled burn in March will clean up the understory. This thinning has really opened things up on the farm and will provide an improved habitat for the properties wildlife.

Woodland Farm - Grain Wagons

We went to Cairo, GA for the Thanksgiving holidays. I was inspired by Foster Huntingtons lobster bouy pictures from August of this year. Woodland Farm was a working dairy farm in the 70'S. These grain wagons are close to all that is left of its working past. Today Christina's father has planted most of his land in pines. They were in the process conducting the first thinning while we were visiting.

Do not put your iPhone in your pocket. Not only are these holsters great looking, but they really make sense.

These are the only candles I burn in the house.

CB I Hate Perfume

I wear Christopher's perfumes daily and they are amazing.

Great Crate

I found this piece at A Flea An'Tique in Braselton, GA. The pictures of Christina's grandfather from WWII (seen on the website and this blog) seem to have renewed my interest in this period. I plan on having a metal base made and using it on my upstairs porch.

Sage Advice

This bit of advice arrived after a wonderful dish of Green Curry Chicken from Green Tea in Dacula, GA. I agree whole heartily.
